You can submit an application for the White Rose ESRC Social Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership. To apply, you must have the following:

  • Submitted an application on e:Vision for one of our PHD courses
  • Received and accepted an offer with us
  • Contacted a personal supervisor and got their agreement to support your application

Following the deadline above, nominations will be discussed between the offer holder and the proposed Personal Supervisor.

Careers

  • Alongside your studies, you'll have access to a researcher development programme via our dedicated careers team. This includes workshops and one-to-one advice sessions to help you build a competitive employability portfolio within and beyond your research.
  • You'll develop skills in advanced quantitative (including Randomised Control Trials) and qualitative research methodologies, mixed-methods, implementation science, systematic evidence synthesis, health economics, and policy translation, depending on the requirements of your research. You'll refine vital transferable skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, project management, adaptability, and the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • A PhD in this field will prepare you for high-level strategic, analytical, and research roles across the public, private, and third sectors. You'll look to secure positions within higher education and research institutes, national healthcare and public health bodies, international governmental and non-governmental organisations, or commercial research and industry.
