Michael leads the way in implementing the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training

Michael Scott, of the Department of Health Sciences, co-facilitates the mandatory training to first year student nurses. In July 2026, he attended the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IASSIDD) Congress with Professor Melissa Owens. Here, Michael and Melissa discuss his involvement in co-facilitating the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training and attending the IASSIDD Congress in Munich.

National Student Survey shows strengths of health sciences at York

The results of the 2026 National Student Survey (NSS) have revealed the strengths of the Department of Health Sciences for the study of Adult Nursing, Children’s Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery and Nursing (Non Specific).
