Closing the national skills gap
The strategic role of higher education to deliver the Government’s Industrial Strategy.
A skills-first strategy for regional growth
Yorkshire and the Humber has ambitious plans for growth, set out by the four mayoral combined authorities, all anchored in the eight sectors of the modern Industrial Strategy.
This growth depends not only on investment and technology, but on the supply of skilled people.
With skills funding now locally devolved, all four combined authorities can turn this opportunity into economic momentum by uniting universities, employers and regional leaders.
Together, we can focus on industries with established scale and existing competitive advantage, establish the right mix of clear technical and high-skilled training providers, and create the talent pipelines - all anchored in regional businesses attracting and retaining an exceptional regional workforce.
Find out more in a new report, from the University of York, QS and Public First, about our region's skills gaps and workforce readiness.
