Student support over the Easter break

Whether you’re leaving York or staying on campus, student support continues over the Easter break.

Emergency support on campus

Campus Safety is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - if it's urgent, call 01904 32 3333 or download the SafeZone app for a quick response to any security or safety issue on campus

On campus

• The Student Hub is open as normal over the break, though it will be closed for the Easter bank holiday weekend between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April 2024 (inclusive).
• See updates if you’re staying in campus accommodation over the vacation
• Retail and catering outlet opening times change during the vacation - visit Eat, Shop and Drink opening times or the MyUoY app to see what is open and when.
• See the MyUoY app or student events for college events and other activities taking place over the vacation - college events are open to all students during the vacation, regardless of which college you belong to.

Bus services

The C1 and C2 will not operate over the Easter vacation from Monday 25 March until Sunday 7 April. They will resume as normal from Monday 8 April. The 66 and 67 will continue to be available throughout the Free Zone during this time - simply tap on and tap off. 

Easter building closures

We are continuing our pilot of building closures over the vacation to help reduce our carbon footprint. This will not affect most buildings that students use - communal student areas such as colleges, the Library, study spaces and sports centres will remain open.

 

Wellbeing support

Our usual sources of help and support are still available over the break, including Campus Safety and your college team. 

The Open Door team will operate on vacation opening hours of 9am-5pm (Monday to Friday). Services will be closed for the Easter bank holiday weekend between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April 2024 (inclusive).

Academic support

• The Library is open, as usual, between 8am and midnight throughout the vacation
• Keep up with your reading list via the Library’s e-resources and check out our online skills guides
• Contact the Library any time via the Library chat service
• Academic Skills Community workshops and one-to-one study and coaching appointments continue over the break, apart from over the bank holiday weekend between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April 2024 (inclusive)

Keeping connected

Stay connected with the Virtual Private Network (VPN) or the Virtual Desktop Service (VDS). Find out more about working off-campus.

IT Support is open as normal over the Easter vacation but will close for the bank holiday weekend between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April 2024 (inclusive).
