Independent summer opportunities

Please check each destination below for specific costs associated with that opportunity. You are liable for all costs and you will need to budget for international flights, accommodation, medical expenses, living expenses and tuition fees. You will also need to consider logistical arrangements such as visa/immigration requirements, accommodation, travel and medical requirements (e.g. vaccinations).

Students who apply for independent summer opportunities may be eligible to apply for funding from the York Futures Scholarships. 

Please note that the University of York does not permit travel to any country where the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advise against all travel. 

If you’re travelling abroad for an independent summer opportunity, you should take out appropriate travel insurance before you go.
