Global Opportunities for Natural Sciences students

Natural Sciences students on any pathway are eligible to apply for an additional year abroad.
Following a recent review of provision, the School of Natural Sciences will close to new degree applicants from September 2024. Global Opportunities will be available to Natural Sciences students as below until the provision is phased out.

Students taking the MSci specialising in Chemistry may only apply for a fourth year abroad through the Department of Chemistry global opportunities.

Year Abroad Exchange Destinations

Netherlands:
Natural Sciences has one exclusive exchange, the Maastricht Science Programme (MSP) at Maastricht University, Netherlands. (Study in English)

University-wide: Undergraduate Natural Sciences students may also apply to study abroad at one of York’s University-wide partners, which are open to students from most other departments at the University.

ISEP (International Student Exchange Program) Exchange:
As part of your internal application for an additional year abroad, you can list ISEP as one of your preferred choices. Begin by exploring the ISEP Minisite and using the ISEP Program Finder to research possible destinations; make sure to apply the 'ISEP Exchange' filter to tailor your search and your field of study. Please be aware that ISEP Direct is not available.
