York Futures Scholarship

Eligibility: UG, Integrated Masters, PGT

Amount: up to £5000

Round 2 - for £2000-£5000 only. Applications open on Monday 4 December 2023 at 5pm, and will close on Monday 19 February 2024 at 5pm.

Thanks to the generous support of the University's alumni, the York Futures Scholarship programme is designed to enable all students to take full advantage of the many personal and professional development opportunities available to them. 

This funding bracket is intended to support international mobility, and will only be awarded to students undertaking international internships or summer abroad programmes. Applications for other activities will not be considered.

YuStart

If you need funds to boost overseas travel then consider using YuStart, York’s own crowdfunding platform. The site empowers you to fundraise for innovative projects and ideas and in addition gives you valuable project management and promotional experience.

• You should be seeking funds for travel (economy only), accommodation, subsistence and other necessary costs for an overseas visit. YuStart does not enable fundraising to support external charities.

International Study Centres

Eligibility: All students

Amount: Full, partial and contributory awards

Applications open: Applications for summer 2024 will open in semester 1

Applications close: 1pm, Friday 16 February 2024

Each year there are a limited number of scholarships you can apply for.  They are competitive and will be distributed on a needs basis but are open to all students.   They are evaluated by a bursary case submitted as part of your application.  For more information on destinations and overall costs please go to the International Study Centre webpage.

Summer Schools

Eligibility: Undergraduates (except final year)

Amount: Basic tuition fee waiver

Applications open: Applications for summer 2024 will open in semester 1

Applications close: 1pm, Friday Friday 16 February 2024

Basic tuition fees are waived under our reciprocal exchange agreements with a number of partner universities for their undergraduate summer schools.  For more information on destinations please go to our summer schools webpage.

Travel Awards 

Eligibility: Undergraduates (except final year), taught postgraduates

Amount: £500

Applications open: Applications will open on 7 February 2024

Applications close: 1pm on Tuesday, 2 April 2024
