Develop your language skills

Posted on 8 September 2023

Learning a language is not just about social and personal development, it can be a life-changing experience.

It can boost your career prospects, allow you to develop key transferable skills, and open a window into different ways of thinking, communicating, and experiencing the world.

Electives

Languages at York provides a range of languages to study. Undergraduates may be able to study languages as part of your degree by taking a language elective.

Languages for All

Any student can learn as an extracurricular activity. If you are interested in learning a new language or continuing with one you have studied before, our Languages for All courses are a great opportunity. You can choose from a range of languages including Arabic, Chinese, Classical Latin, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Medieval Latin, Russian, and Spanish.

Courses run from mid October to May.

Registration for Languages for All courses close on Monday 2 October 2023
