How to do online closed assessments

Read our top tips for students when completing online exams.

Exam stress or anxiety? There are online resources to help you develop helpful strategies

  1. Follow the rules provided by the University in relation to academic integrity

  2. Organisation is key - think about where you are going to do your assessment and make sure any software you use is downloaded already onto your laptop

  3. Plan your assessment, including when you are going to start it and how long you are going to take to answer each question. We do not expect you to take 24 hours over the assessment

  4. Find a quiet space, if possible

  5. Avoid distractions on social media - let friends and family know you will be busy

  6. Take a break, have a drink and snacks available

  7. You may find it helpful do some mindful breathing exercises before and during the exam
