Event details

This in-person workshop supports participants to discuss and reflect upon their academic journey, achievements and emerging research identity. Participants will explore how their experiences demonstrate leadership potential, independence and readiness for fellowship success.

Drawing on the Valuing Voices principle of Equity and Diversity in Teams, participants will also consider what inclusive research leadership looks like in practice and how they can create equitable, collaborative and supportive research environments within their future fellowship project.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Develop a stronger leadership narrative using the Narrative CV framework.
  • Identify how their experience demonstrates readiness for research independence.
  • Explore what equitable and inclusive research leadership could look like within their future fellowship.
  • Identify practical actions and resources needed to build an inclusive research team.

This is an in-person workshop to support prospective fellowship applicants who are applying for a fellowship within the next 6-12 months. We ask that participants have a specific call in mind and a current draft of their application with them to get the most value from the session.
