Data Management Plans: Getting Started

This online session, delivered by the Open Research team, will be of interest to postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and all staff involved in research.

Data management plans (DMPs) are becoming an increasingly important aspect of research. Many funding bodies require a DMP to evidence adequate and appropriate provisions for data management and curation in new grant applications. And for postgraduate researchers, the University requires you to work with your supervisor(s) to put in place a DMP by first formal review of progress. 

This introductory session provides an overview of the basics of data management planning, the component parts of a plan and best practice guidance, signposting you to data management practical guidance. DMPonline, the tool that we recommend you use to write and update your plan, will be demonstrated in the session.

Towards the end of the session time will be given over to questions and answers.
