Introduction to Intellectual Property and Research Commercialisation
Event details
This course provides a brief overview of what Intellectual Property (IP) is and most importantly, how it can be used to benefit your research. Coming away from the session, you will understand how IP and commercialisation processes can be used to increase your research impact, develop new funding opportunities, and strengthen your grant applications. The course will also highlight common mistakes researchers make with IP and how these mistakes can be avoided in the future.
The Commercialisation Team at the University of York are here to support researchers by helping to turn research ideas into products and services that have societal benefit. That does not mean every product or service needs to be sold necessarily. In this talk we will show you what we can do to help support your research and what that support looks like.
