Welcome to Dr Chris Bowman

We have great pleasure in welcoming Dr Chris Bowman to the Department. Chris will be joining our Algebra group, with a five year Early Career Fellowship funded by EPSRC looking at Tensor and wreath products of symmetric groups.

Having pioneered a new approach to understanding the stable blueprints of Kronecker and plethysm coefficients in the context of the partition algebra, during his fellowship Chris aims to explore these coefficients fully and to solve old and new conjectures concerning the positivity properties of non-stable Kronecker and plethysm coefficients.
We are particularly excited to welcome Chris back to the Department as he undertook his undergraduate studies with us, before completing his PhD at University of Cambridge and also working at City University, London and University of Kent.
