LMS Northern Regional Meeting and Workshop on Applied Algebra and Geometry - 14 to 16 September 2026
The field of Applied Algebra and Geometry serves as a vital bridge between pure mathematical theory — including commutative algebra, representation theory, and algebraic topology — and transformative real-world applications in data science, cryptography, and systems biology. This workshop will take place over three days, and will incorporate the LMS Northern Regional Meeting 2026 and the 25th meeting of the Applied Algebra and Geometry Research Network (AAG).
New Directions in semiclassical gravity workshop - 14 to 17 September 2026
The workshop New Directions in semiclassical gravity will bring together experts making recent contributions to lines of research related to the semiclassical regime of quantum gravity, including mathematicians, physicists and philosophers. The aim is to create a multidiciplinary melting pot of ideas to spearhead progress in the field, especially in the understanding of the mathematical properties of theory, its regime of applicability and consequences for fundamental physics. This is especially relevant at a moment in which mathematical techniques have matured sufficiently to tackle open problems in the field.
