YESI Theme Lead Recruitment

News | Posted on Thursday 25 February 2021

YESI is recruiting for Research Theme Leads in ‘Resilient Ecosystems’ and ‘Health and the Environment'.

We are actively encouraging applications from colleagues at various stages in their careers, with current grade not being a barrier to application. We would like to hear from inspiring, collaborative interdisciplinary leaders who can use their skills to reflect the pressing environmental issues that humanity faces, as well as promote the key academic strengths in the field of environmental sustainability at the University of York.

The roles are quite unique and operate on a flexible basis (0.2 FTE buyout), with job shares considered) for a 3 year term. The colleagues appointed will act as ambassadors and have the opportunity to shape their Theme going forward; identify emerging research opportunities and priorities and drive new funding opportunities, collaborations and partnerships, including leading interdisciplinary research bids involving internal colleagues and external partners.

Prof. Matthew Thomas (matthew.thomas@york.ac.uk) (for general and Health and the Environment queries)

Prof. Jane Hill (jane.hill@york.ac.uk) (for specific Resilient Ecosystems queries)

We are very much looking forward to hearing from colleagues who are passionate about environmental sustainability and interdisciplinary research. More info via the Internal Vacancies web page, under Research.
