As the Climate Change conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan draws to a close, there is an urgent need for a new politics of climate resilient development that opens space for ethical and political engagement by diverse actors.  

On World Ventilate Day 2024, SEI researcher Luke Gooding emphasizes the importance of ventilation during retrofitting, through his work with Retrofit One-Stop-Shop York (ROSSY). Not only can optimized ventilation enhance a home's energy efficiency and lower costs – it should be a top priority in any retrofit initiative, for human health and lower carbon emissions for a city and beyond.
