Event details
Join us for the first session in our new series of monthly InTREEgue Network meetings, bringing together tree enthusiasts from across the University and beyond.
This month, we’re excited to showcase a collaborative project led by Amy Holguin, Patricia Bond, and Sophie Stewart, who will be sharing their work on the Oak tree — the very first tree to be featured in a new series of multi-disciplinary narratives connected to the University’s Native Tree Trail.
The session will explore how the team has combined research, creativity, and environmental perspectives to highlight the significance of this iconic tree.
🌿 Weather permitting, we’ll also take a short walk to visit the Oak itself — number 8 on the Native Tree Trail map, just across the bridge from Derwent College.
What’s next for InTREEgue?
We’re also developing plans for future meetings in October and November, including:
-
A gathering of campus trail coordinators to explore linking trail data to the University’s interactive campus map via a shared GIS platform
-
An ecopoetics workshop (pending availability of contributors)
-
A foraging walk around campus
-
More research talks – or something you’d like to suggest?
💬 Got an idea or want to get involved?
We’d love to hear from you. Bring your curiosity and creativity, and let’s grow something together.
All are welcome — staff, students, researchers, and community members.
