Travelling to York

For some students, travelling to York may be the first time they have ever left their home country. Even for experienced travellers, moving to live in another country can be a daunting experience. On these pages we have included information on the easiest way to travel to the UK, and the most convenient methods of travel to the University itself once you arrive in the country.

Travelling to the UK

‌In this section you will find information regarding flights or other journeys into the UK. You are strongly advised to deal with any immigration issues in advance of travelling. We also have information on what to pack in your luggage.

Getting to York

This section contains information on how to travel from the various airports, seaports or other points of entry you may encounter when coming to the UK. The quickest way around the UK is usually by train. Please also be aware of the airport collection service provided by the University from Manchest Airport on certain dates in July and September.
