Module summary
This module will be an exploration into the theory, professional techniques and workflows as well as the creative aspects of editing audio. This module will cover practical audio editing skills and workflows that underpin audio editing across all media types, including film, television, music, radio/podcasting, audiobooks and games.

Module aims
This module aims to:
- To introduce the basic concepts of editing for various media formats.
- To learn professional workflows for editing audio across various media types
- To explore the possibilities and limitations of industry standard techniques and tools
- To experiment with the creative possibilities and tools of audio editing to make new innovative pieces
- To be able to identify, interpret and implement the relevant deliverable specifications for audio media
- To develop an appreciation of the craft and creativity of editing in audio.
- To work towards a significant editing project that is informed by current industry standards and forms.
Module learning outcomes
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the process of audio editing across multiple media formats.
- Demonstrate an understanding of common audio editing tools and techniques
- Demonstrate an understanding of common audio editing workflows
- Demonstrate an understanding of white papers and technical production delivery documentation
- Demonstrate an understanding of loudness standards
- Demonstrate an understanding of how editing can be used creatively
- Execute an extended piece of audio editing that complies with delivery specifications.
