Module aims

  • To develop the student's understanding of what is required in academic research, and the capacity to carry it out.
  • To train students in specific academic skills.
  • To support students in successfully completing an MA or Postgraduate Diploma in philosophy.

Module learning outcomes

Students will:

  • Be better able to understand the demands of advanced research in Philosophy, and to engage with work at this level.
  • Have developed their understanding of good practice in philosophical research.
  • Have improved their academic skills and research abilities.
