Module aims

This module introduces operations management as it applies to a variety of organisations. It covers the activities of modern operations management and puts operations management in a strategic context. Operations Management is an applied subject. It’s concerned with creating the everyday products and services that we all consume – so it’s everywhere around us! Hopefully this means that you will all be able to engage with the subject and recognise its relevance and importance. Our “laboratory” is organisations. That’s why we push you to think about the application of the theories and tools that we will introduce you to during this module.
