  • Ethics and the role of HR in Employment Law

  • Employment law: rights and responsibilities, discrimination, unfair dismissal, redundancies

  • CSR and managing volunteers

  • Employee wellbeing

  • Managing absenteeism

  • Flexible working and work-life balance

  • Bullying and harassment

  • Managing diversity

  • Managing remote workers/virtual teams,

  • Social media/technology use in the workplace

  • Employee voice and autonomy

  • Managing organisational change

Academic and graduate skills

By the end of this module students should be able to:-

  • Understand HR’s role in, and contribution to, building sustainable organisations

  • Understand, and assess, the impact of organisations on individuals, families and society more broadly

  • Recognise and consider ethics and the role of Employment Law in creating sustainable organisations

  • better manage people in increasingly complex and changing business environments
