How to work towards your goals - plus a chance to win!

What's important to you and what makes you thrive? How do you handle stress, mistakes and failure? Use our Success at York Toolkit to develop skills and motivation to ensure you get the most out of your time at York.

The Success at York Toolkit is a research-based initiative that started in our very own Department of Psychology. Co-developed with students, it helps you focus on four key areas - purpose, resourcefulness, optimism and perseverance (PROP) -  that will help you work towards your goals with resilience.

You’ll be hearing from us a lot in semester 2, so keep your eyes peeled on social media and around campus - we’ve got a lot to talk about and want to get you involved in the conversation.  Starting with…

… how better to display purpose, resourcefulness, optimism and perseverance than taking part in the SAY Scavenger Hunt! We have £100 worth of food & drink vouchers to be won, so whether you fancy a go yourself, or want to try it as a team, download the scavenger hunt instructions.

Want to get involved?

The Success at York Toolkit has been co-developed with students - but we’re not stopping there! We’re always looking for student volunteers to help us develop resources, suggest and run activities, and be ambassadors.  If you’re interested in getting involved, please email us at - we’d love to hear from you.
