Disability drop-ins: Semester 1

Posted on 14 September 2023

Disability Services are running drop-in sessions throughout semester - a chance for a quick chat with a practitioner about general disability related queries.

When and where?

Week 0 (Freshers’ Week) and Week 1

Drop-ins take place in the Library foyer across these two weeks on the following days and times.

  • Monday: 10am to 11.30am
  • Tuesday: 10am to 11.30am
  • Wednesday: 2pm to 3.30pm
  • Thursday: 12.30pm to 2pm (Week 0) and 12 noon to 1.30pm (Week 1)
  • Friday: 2pm to 3.30pm

Week 2 to Week 11 (including Consolidation Week)

Drop-ins take place every week in the Student Hub (B02) on the following days and times.

  • Tuesday: 11am to 12 noon
  • Wednesday: 2pm to 3pm
  • Thursday: 12 noon to 1pm

These drop-in sessions are for Semester 1.

Who can attend?

Drop-ins are suitable for current University of York students who have quick queries on:

  • What support is available?
  • Is my medical evidence sufficient?
  • How do I apply for DSA?
  • I want to drop off some paperwork

You do not need to be registered or register with Disability Services to attend a drop-in.

When is the Disability Services drop-in not suitable?

Drop-ins are not an alternative to a meeting with your advisor. You should contact Disability Services directly if you need to discuss something more in-depth, for example:

  • I need to talk about my student support plan
  • My requirements have changed
  • My adjustments are not working and need to be reviewed
