Light up, be seen and be safe

Cyclists - claim free high-visibility vests, bike lights, and 'slap wrap' arm reflectors.

Light Up Be Seen and Be Safe

With dark evenings, it's important to be seen if you're cycling on the roads.

The Highway Code states that, at night, cyclists must have white front and red rear lights. If you don't have lights, you could get an on-the-spot fine.

Bikes must also be fitted with a red rear reflector and amber pedal reflectors.

Claim free safety gear

The Travel and Transport Team are giving away free high-visibility vests, bike lights and ‘slap wrap’ arm reflectors on Thursday 25 November 2021.

Catch them at Field Lane crossroads between 4-6pm (at the traffic lights near Heslington Church between Campus East and West).
