Changes to your bus times and routes from Sunday 20 May

Posted on 10 May 2018

Would you like an express bus from York train station to the University of York? We’ve worked with First York to improve the bus service.

From Sunday 20 May there will be changes to the timetables and routes on all services, including the all new 66x direct bus.

66x: your morning express bus from York train station direct to the University

These buses avoid the city centre, giving you a faster journey. The 66x will run three trips at 7.30am, 8.00am and 8.20am Monday to Friday (term time only).

66 service

The 66 will leave the train station at a different bus stop, ‘RJ’ across the road and closest to the crossing. The new route will go via Nunnery Lane to Merchantgate, like the recent diversion, (but without the waiting time at Merchantgate).

At Heslington Hall the 66 will go along Field Lane to Campus East in both directions, but won’t stop at the York Sport Village. The 66a will go to the York Sport Village.

66a service

The 66a service is increasing to run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday and every 30 minutes on Sundays.

The route will be the same until Heslington Hall where the bus will travel along Lakeside Way to York Sport Village (like the current 66) in both directions.
