The University is shocked and saddened by the tragic death of York student Ethan Peters and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to Ethan's family and friends at this deeply distressing time.
In light of these circumstances we would like to remind students of the importance of staying safe around water.
Tips for staying safe
- Don’t walk home near water
- Look out for your friends - make sure they get home safely
- Never enter the water if you have been drinking alcohol
- Remember that drinking alcohol can seriously impair your ability to get yourself out of trouble
