About us

The York Robotics Laboratory is a purpose built facility located on Baird Lane behind the TFTV building on Campus East, a short walk from the Department of Computer Science and the Ron Cooke Hub.  The lab contains a large 80 square meter, double-height arena space, equipped with multiple robotic tracking systems, a teaching\research classroom area and a technical workshop area.  The design of the arena allows for research into autonomous flying vehicles (drones), and features a controlled lighting system ensuring repeatability of results.  The lab is supported by a full-time technician, Dr James Hilder, who is co-employed by the departments of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering.

Location

The buildings official name is TFTB, which can be found on the Heslington East campus to the West of the TFTV building.

The building is highlighted on this campus map.
