The environment we live in poses hazards to society – and some of those hazards are created by humans.
We are developing our understanding of the natural world and the risks posed by phenomena such as tsunamis and floods. We are examining the impact of human activity on air, land and water quality, and examining how to build evidence and risk models for use by policymakers.
