The York Award
The York Award, an employability certificate of the university, is highly valued by graduate employers. Everything you do during your time at York, which involves developing employability skills, can count towards the York Award.
The Careers Service co-ordinate volunteering programmes which give you the chance to volunteer with charities and voluntary organsiations, in a wide variety of sections.
York Students in Schools
Make a difference by volunteering with children and young people through our York Students in Schools (YSIS) placement and mentor schemes, or run your own project alongside employers and schools across York.
There are various routes into working outside of the UK, including working for international governmental organisations, International Volunteering opportunities and global commercial businesses.
More employers are looking for evidence of skills gained outside your course. YUSU activities, committees, societies and sport clubs give you a great opportunity to develop new skills and personal strengths.
