Foundation Year Bursary

This Bursary is a means-tested fee waiver for UK students on the first year of a Foundation Year degree (Year 0).

Cobham Scholarship

Designed to encourage and support the next generation of engineers, these scholarships are open to those with a contextual offer for an Engineering degree.

The Institution of Engineering and Technology Travel Awards

The IET provides funding for members to attend conferences or take part in research visits within the UK or overseas.

School of Physics, Engineering and Technology Foundation Year Scholarships

We offer a number of scholarships to the best performing Foundation Year students after their first semester.

Masterclass Research Placement

This unique research masterclass is a paid placement with one of our Physics research groups.

International Regional Scholarship

Our International Regional Scholarship is here to support international undergraduate and postgraduate students to help them excel.

United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education Scholarships

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education offers a number scholarships for Emirati students to study abroad.

Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund Lånekassen

The Ministry provides grants and loans for higher education study outside of the Nordic region.

Dean's Global Excellence Scholarship

To reward excellence, the Dean's Global Excellence Scholarship offers a tuition fee discount to talented undergraduate students within the faculties.

  • Funding: Full tuition fee discount for the first year followed by £10,000 tuition fee discount for the second and third year.

International Achievement Scholarship

Through this scholarship, we aim to celebrate the achievements of our best and brightest international undergraduate applicants.

Care Leavers and Estranged Students Bursary

This bursary is for students aged under 25, who come to York as care leavers or who are irreconcilably estranged from their parents.

York Bursary

Depending on your household residual income you could be eligible for our non-repayable York bursary.

Cowrie Foundation Scholarship

Created to offer support to Black British undergraduates from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • Funding: Tuition fees at the UK (home) rate, plus a maintenance stipend of up to £8,000 for each year of your course.
  • Academic year: 2025/26
  • Open to: UK (home) students
  • Number available: Two

York Refugee Bursary

The Refugee Bursary is a non-repayable award for students who come to York and have a Refugee immigration status.

York Minster offers choral scholarships lasting 12 months or longer to altos, tenors and basses who are undergraduate or postgraduate students.
