Each year the Fusion Centre for Doctoral Training collaborates with Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE) to organise an open day for prospective postgraduate students. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, this year’s event will take place online.

Come along to our virtual postgraduate open day on Wednesday 16 December 2020:

  • Take a virtual tour of the facilities at CCFE
  • Network with academics and current students from a range of universities
  • Learn about different areas of fusion research
  • Find out about Master's and PhD opportunities

While fusion is the headline topic, this spans many research areas that encompass plasma physics, materials science, instrumentation and advanced engineering/technologies. It links to fields as diverse as astrophysics, advanced manufacturing and nuclear energy.

This event provides a great opportunity to not only find out about what the UK has to offer in fusion training, but also to get a flavour of where a career in fusion energy research might take you beyond your postgraduate degree.
