Noah Henry is a first-year PhD candidate within the York Music Psychology Group (YMPG). His research considers functional and situational influences that determine music selection in specific circumstances. The overall aim of his research is to generate a method by which it is possible to predict what music may be compatible with listening aims in specific listening scenarios or contexts. Noah completed an MA in Music Psychology at York, which included a thesis on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on music listening, before continuing postgraduate study within the research group.
Prior to this, he studied for a BA in Creative Musicianship at London's Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP), from which he graduated with First Class Honours.
He is supervised by Dr Hauke Egermann and loves cheesecake.
