Viking is a cluster aimed at users who require a platform for development and the execution of compute jobs. Viking hardware and most of the software is managed by Alces.
The Research computing team are responsible for installing user applications and providing support with user code running on Viking.
Eligibility
Access is available to all members of staff and students conducting research at the University.
To request access Project PIs need to submit a project application form to obtain a project code. See How to access Viking for further details.

No Charge, although we request that if Viking is used in your research please acknowledge this in publications. See Information for grants and acknowledgements for further details.

Fault Management | Alces manage the cluster. Alces are responsible for most of the Viking hardware and software. The university of York is responsible for issues relating to software installs. |
