Accreditation

All the courses at York have been accredited as approved training by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). BEng or MEng Honours Degree courses, in contrast to ordinary BSc or MSc courses, are those which have been accredited by the IET.

An accredited course is one which the IET counts as forming an acceptable part of the training requirements for Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Graduates with good degree results are automatically eligible to become Associate Members of the IET and become full members after gaining industrial experience. Our flagship MEng courses meet the requirements in full for Chartered Engineer and EUR ING status and are your best route to achieving these titles.
