Macroeconomics and Finance
We carry out research on a wide variety of topics in theoretical and applied macroeconomics.
These include:
- economic growth
- international macroeconomics
- inter-temporal macro models
- non-linear macroeconomic dynamics
- labour economics
- political economy
- stochastic dynamic models.
Our research also makes important links with finance. We have several ESRC-funded projects under way which employ theoretical and empirical analysis to interrogate the relationships between financial markets and the macro economy, and their influence on risk premia and asset pricing.
Another important research area is corporate finance, particularly concerning the impact of agency relations within firms on financial and investment decisions, and hence on the valuation of financial instruments within firms.
