Event details

The School for Business and Society is excited to host their panel discussion on how we can engage all in the transition to a sustainable future. Our discussion will touch on engagement, the scope of change and the urgency of change and we consider new, faster or better ways to a thriving future. Peter Ball will chair the panel of three sustainability experts - Dr Steve Hall, Prof Melanie Kreye and Dr Jacqueline You - posing questions and inviting questions and comments from the audience. Please join us for a lively and fascinating discussion about our collective future.

Our panel members lead research and teaching in their own specialist areas underpinned by broad sustainability understanding and ambitions for furthering knowledge. The panel discussion will pick up on both the depth and breadth of their expertise. In particular we will seek to cover, against the wider terminology from sustainability to net zero to regenerative to degrowth, what is essentially at the core of what business and society need to strive for. We will seek to cover how we engage people in a bright, thriving future rather than see sustainability as a limiting compromise between good and bad. And we will seek to imagine what business and society could achieve if we let our ambitions drown out short and medium term barriers to advance.
