NERC have released the call for Phase One of their AI for Environmental Science programme. As part of this programme they are seeking to fund bold, ambitious projects that accelerate the development of leading-edge data science tools and AI to help deliver transformative solutions to the intractable environmental challenges of today and the future. The programme focuses on three areas:
- Environmental hazards and human health
- Terrestrial ecology
- Oceans and climate
Phase One projects can bid for £200k-400k funding, with only those successful in Phase One being invited to apply for Phase two funding of £1.3m-£1.8m.
This workshop will bring together researchers who are looking to develop bids to this call to facilitate discussion and development of ideas and/or collaboration building. If you cannot attend the workshop, you are welcome to submit your details via the google form so they can be shared with the group.
This call is subject to demand management - attendance at this workshop however is not mandatory for those who wish to submit an EOI to the internal process. The demand management approach and timeline can be found here.
