Event Series: Food system vulnerabilities and COVID-19
Join YESI for the sixth online event under the 'Ask the Author' series. During the series, you will have the chance to discuss - with the authors - the findings of newly released papers from the University of York.
During this event, Dr Philip Garnett and Professors Bob Doherty and Tony Heron will discuss their recently published paper 'Vulnerability of the United Kingdom’s food supply chains exposed by COVID-19'.
Insufficient capacity in domestic food production, just-in-time supply chains and Brexit-related labour market challenges have weakened the UK’s food system. Building redundancy and diversity in the food system is essential for resilience in the COVID-19 recovery.
