Win £1,000 with the Brighter Futures Grants Programme!

10 University of York students will each receive a £1,000 Brighter Futures Grant, thanks to our partnership with Santander.

The grant is yours to spend however you choose, whether that's rent, bills, study equipment or everyday living costs.

All students can enter, including undergraduates, postgraduates, part-time and full-time students. You don't need to bank with Santander. 

How to enter:

  1. Register for Santander Open Academy, a free online learning platform (if you haven’t already).
  2. Click the verification link in your confirmation email.
  3. Log in and choose ‘Get Started’ to complete your entry into the Brighter Futures Grants programme. Select University of York from the menu.
  4. Submit your entry by 11.59pm on 3 December 2026.
