UoY to host Rugby League World Cup teams

World class sport is coming to York.

York is a host city for the forthcoming Rugby League World Cup and the University has been selected to host the women's French and Australian teams!

From Wednesday 26 October, the teams will be training on our fantastic athletic infield, 22 acres grass pitches, at York Sport Village 3G pitches and swimming pool and inside our state of the art strength and conditioning gym at York Sport Centre.

The Rugby League World Cup starts on Saturday 15 October and ends on Saturday 19 November 2022. The matches in York take place at the LNER Community Stadium.
