Using personal electrical items in residences

Students in colleges on Campus West are invited to have their personal items tested for electrical safety.

In order to make our buildings as safe as possible it is important that students have their personal items tested for electrical safety.

The University has organised sessions for all students in colleges on Campus West to bring along their items so they can be tested (colleges on Campus East have separate arrangements). 

Any electrical items including chargers, adaptors, USB cables, laptops and more, can be tested.

Students can attend any session, in any college regardless of where they live.

For any student who has access or mobility issues we can arrange an independent visit to their room. Email campus-development@york.ac.uk or speak to your college manager if this is required.
