Using personal electrical items in residences

Posted on 26 October 2022

Students in colleges on Campus West are invited to have their personal items tested for electrical safety.

In order to make our buildings as safe as possible it is important that students have their personal items tested for electrical safety.

The University has organised sessions for all students in colleges on Campus West to bring along their items so they can be tested (colleges on Campus East have separate arrangements).

Any electrical items including chargers, adaptors, USB cables, laptops and more, can be tested.

The sessions are:

Week 6 Tuesday 1 November 2022 Wentworth Vedge 9am - 5pm
Wednesday 2 November 2022 J/P/002 1pm - 7pm
Thursday 3 November 2022 V/C/109 8am - 4pm
Week 7 Tuesday 8 November 2022 D/L/117 12 noon - 6.30pm
Wednesday 9 November 2022 ARC/010 10am - 6pm
Thursday 10 November 2022 Halifax JJs 1pm - 7pm

Students can attend any session, in any college regardless of where they live.

For any student who has access or mobility issues we can arrange an independent visit to their room. Email or speak to your college manager if this is required.
