Winning Christmas card designs

Posted on 25 November 2021

Congratulations to Veniamin Shiron for their Christmassy creation - featuring our favourite campus residents ready for the snowy season!

Following a wealth of fantastic, festive submissions from across the University, we're delighted to wish a huge congratulations to Veniamin Shiron, the winner of our Christmas card contest!

Judged by the Vice-Chancellor, Charlie Jeffrey, Veniamin’s masterpiece features a wonderful, cosy gathering of UoY waterfowl - the perfect companions to make your cards fly through the post.

Runner-ups for this year's designs, pictured below, featured a sparkling Central Hall snowglobe (Charlotte Rule), a gorgeously snowy Hes Hall scene (Ruby O’Connell) and the legendary Longboi in a scarf (Zuzanna Rog).

The winning card design and 3 runner-ups are displayed side by side, on a bench in front of the campus lake. Cards feature York waterfowl, central hall in a snowglobe, hes hall in the snow and longboi in a scarf.
