The York Unlimited Giving Day is back!

Posted on 30 October 2020

Get involved in the York Unlimited Giving Day - Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November - as we raise money for students and mental health causes at York.

Following on from the success of last year's York Unlimited Giving Day, which raised £66,000 for causes at York, we're delighted to be coming together again (virtually!) for 36 hours next week to raise funds for students and mental health causes at York.

We're asking our global community of staff, alumni and friends to help us create change by supporting some of our life-changing, world-changing initiatives at York. 2020 has no doubt been challenging, but together we can make a difference.

Every penny counts, and your help in encouraging donations is always welcome. There are lots of ways that you can get involved and help us to make a success of this event - why not become an ambassador for Giving Day or join us at our Virtual Pub Quiz, hosted by a York alumnus?

Our causes

The York Unlimited campaign prioritises five causes that will help to enable every student at York to shine, and transform mental health at York and beyond:

  1. York Opportunity Scholarship, to recognise the extreme barriers that some have to overcome to access a University education

  2. York Futures Scholarship, to help give students the chance to seize career and volunteering opportunities regardless of their socio-economic circumstances

  3. Mentally Fit York, to help transform mental health on a local, national and international scale by supporting on the ground initiatives and ground breaking research

  4. Equal Access Scholarship, to help give people caught up in conflict equal access to an education at York

  5. YuFund, to help support student clubs, societies and projects at York at a time when Covid-19 is changing the student experience beyond all recognition

How you can help

Right now, you can get involved in three ways:

Your support in the run up to Giving Day, as well as on the day itself, is vital in helping us achieve incredible things for you, for your classmates and for the wider community. Please help us today, and join us as we countdown to 4 and 5 November!
