The theme for Black History Month 2018 is 'Celebrating Great Black British Achievers'.

Events are taking place across campus to celebrate Black contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of Black History in general.

The Staff Race Equality Forum (SREF) would like to invite staff and students to attend its autumn event, where Canon Margaret Sentamu will be delivering a lecture to mark celebrations for the month. Lunch will be provided.

What was the Queen of Soul's effect on the world of British Black Gospel? Immersed in the struggle for civil rights, how did this help to affirm the success of Britain's black gospel stars? Join Libby Redman for an interactive workshop as we examine this area and explore the journey of a young gospel singer who became one of the world's most inspirational artists.
