Come along to the York Society of Engineers lecture on The Coal Authority, our final open lecture of 2016. Thursday 8 December 2016, 7.30pm, P/L/002.

The speaker is Charlie Whittaker BEng (Hons) IEng MICE, Project Manager, The Coal Authority.

The talk aims to provide a brief overview of what the Coal Authority is and the role it performs.

It will focus on mine water management and treatment, tip management, surface hazard remediation and subsidence liabilities, with particular reference to the various engineering solutions that have been implemented whilst managing the mining legacy.
