All electrical appliances (including adaptors and extension leads) should be checked for safety with a Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) session before they are used in university accommodation.
This could include:
- phone chargers
- laptops
- games consoles and smart devices
- television
- printers
- anything you use in the kitchen in your campus accommodation
Forthcoming drop-in PAT testing sessions
You'll be invited to a free testing session of your student electrical appliances by your college during Semester One, usually in October. Your college will share the specific dates for these sessions. We’ll also update this webpage once the details are confirmed.
