Education Quality Enhancement Cycle
The Education Quality Enhancement Cycle (EQEC) is a continuous process through which schools/departments review key data relating to the taught student experience, student outcomes and academic standards. It replaces the Annual Programme Review process.
EQEC serves to:
- identify from a data-informed perspective areas of good educational practice and areas of practice that can be enhanced;
- provide the basis for the development of school/department action plans to enhance the students’ education experience, responding to local needs and aligning with institutional priorities;
- provide ongoing reassurance to Faculty Education Committees and University Education Committee that quality and standards of educational provision at York are being managed in line with external frameworks and expectations, specifically the Office for Students B Conditions of Registration, and the QAA Quality Code Principle 5: Monitoring, Evaluating and Enhancing Provision.
Policy, Procedure and Guidance
Guidance and updates to the EQEC process will be circulated to schools/departments in advance of each academic year.
Please forward any enquiries about the EQEC process to academic-quality-admin@york.ac.uk.
