- Apprentices
Combining paid work with study towards a qualification. - Casual and temporary workers
Using casual workers, including GTAs, Temp Pool and agency workers. - Direct appointments
In limited circumstances it may be appropriate to make a temporary appointment of up to 6 months without a recruitment process. - Fixed-term and open appointments
Appointments for more than 6 months must follow the recruitment process. - Internal appointments
Making appointments arising from restructures or secondments. - Named researchers
