Collaborative leadership programme: Aims and principles

The overall aims of the programme are to enable participating leaders to:

  • Create a culture of empowerment that maximises effectiveness.
  • Articulate and deliver their vision with integrity and passion.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to fulfill the university vision of public good.

Core principles

  • The programme starts with two consecutive days to build relationships and community.
  • Essential pre-work will be mandatory.
  • 360 tool is an essential component part.
  • Blended delivery of digital and face-to-face (face-to-face duration - full days).
  • Face-to-face focussed on skill and community development.
  • Co-coaching sessions between each module.
  • Additional reading and developmental material will be highlighted to cohort delegates if they wish to enhance their learning further.
  • Additional skill development will be offered as optional standalone workshops.

As a member of staff who joined the University in the pandemic, the Collaborative Leadership Programme helped me to broaden my network and to put faces to names who I'd only previously encountered by email. It has helped me to learn more about the challenges we face across the University and how we can all help each other to approach these in a positive way.
